ECGs continue to play an essential role in the diagnosis of many cardiac conditions and even in various medical problems. But many physicians no longer feel comfortable reading ECGs because they have not developed the necessary skills or an effective approach. Few are trained in looking carefully at the entire ECG, focusing on identification of important waveforms.

Each ECG is accompanied by a discussion of important diagnostic findings that emphasizes essential electrophysiologic mechanisms and clinical management decisions.
